I am committed to on-going personal development and training. Last year I completed a course on supervision with the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). I also undertook a weekend workshop on ‘Assessment’, also with the BAP. I have been BACP accredited since 2003 and am on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors (UKRC).

Work Experience

I worked in the area of community mental health for nine years. For five of those years I managed a team of psychotherapists for an organisation that provided rehabilitation and support for people with mental ill health who were living in the community. Part of this role included managing assessments and referrals, clinical supervision and provision of supervision and training to other aspects of the organisation. I have also worked in youth centres, run a range of groups at a women’s centre, and worked in a residential therapy centre for people with mental ill health and personality disorders.

I have worked for a range of Employee Assistance Programmes, providing short term, focussed work for people in a wide range of industries. Currently I work as a student counsellor at a local university providing mainly short term, focussed work and assessments. I provide training to a number of local counselling services.

I also work in private practice and am the co-ordinator for the Kingston Post Natal Counselling Service.
