Maid of Heaven - well remembered
Born this day in 1412, Jean of Arc was captured by the English in 1431 and tried by an ecclesiastical court. She was burned at the stake at just 19 and was declared a martyr by the Pope 24 years later. Not only did she rout the English forces, but, remarkably as a woman, was the youngest person ever to command the entire armed forces of a nation state. And in I Ching Astrology, you can see why: her profile is dominated by the 3 Thunder Star. This Star is drawn from the trigram known as Thunder or the Eldest Sun . Both her Birth Star and her Inner Star have this youthful, powerful and precocious quality. Her Outer Star is the 5 T'ai Chi Star, which gave her that extraordinary commanding presence and effectively doubled up her Thunder nature. The Thunder Star represents the dawn, the spring and hope for the future. To this day her memory is still adored by the French people, and great composers, including Shakespeare, Verdi, Tchaikovsky and Mark Twain have honoured her memory with their works. The painting (above) by Eugene Thirion depicts Jean hearing the voices that inspired her to victory over the English. More info at www.maidofheaven.com
